Born and raised on the east coast of Canada, Ailsa Macmillan began her career as a hairstylist in 2008. She then worked her way into Vancouver’s film and television industry by 2012 and became a bonafide wig maker in 2017. In 2018 Ailsa continued her formal wig-master training by attending The Wig Academy in England under the instruction of Barbra Burrows. With many amazing teachers and mentors throughout her film career, she credits their guidance as a major force behind her success and inspiration in the field. Ailsa’s specialties include custom, handmade wigs, hair pieces and facial hair for film, television and theatre, as well as wig alterations. Always striving for quality and beauty, she uses only the best quality materials and traditional techniques.
Her film credits include hair stylist on Deadpool, Deadpool 2, Wonder, Star Trek Beyond, first assistant hair stylist on Power Rangers, Altered Carbon: Seasons 1 and 2. Her wigs have been featured on Batwoman, G.I Joe: Ever Vigilant, The Good Doctor, The 100
